Sexual Health
What you might be feeling
Sexual health is highly vulnerable and personal. It can deeply impact how we feel about ourselves and connect in a relationship. It can be connected to feelings of vitality, pleasure and connection, but also shame, grief, pain and other complex experiences. I am sex positive, pleasure-focused, and trauma-informed, and here to help you navigate some challenges that you may be facing.
Painful intercourse that makes intimacy uncomfortable or difficult.
Low libido or sexual drive that leaves you feeling disconnected from desire or intimacy.
Low self-esteem that affects how you feel about yourself and your body.
Concerns with body function or changes to function that affect your comfort, confidence, or sexual wellbeing.
A sexually transmitted infection (STI) that brings up feelings of worry, shame, or uncertainty.
Perimenopause or menopause-related changes that affect your desire, comfort, or connection to your body.
How do we work with it?
Together, we’ll make space to process emotions that may be holding you back, while developing practical strategies to navigate challenges and support your nervous system and body. Your experiences will be met with validation and understanding as you learn to recognize your needs, build new ways of responding, and communicate more confidently about vulnerable topics.
Reproductive Health
What you might be feeling
Reproductive health can bring some of the most complicated and deeply personal experiences. Pregnancy, birth, fertility, loss, reproductive decisions, and becoming a parent can bring joy, grief, fear, uncertainty, or a combination of emotions that can be difficult to put into words.
You may be navigating a pregnancy you didn't expect, processing a difficult diagnosis, preparing for birth, or adjusting to the enormous identity shift that comes with becoming a parent. You may also be carrying an experience that felt traumatic, or struggling with feelings that you worry others will judge. Whatever you're experiencing, you don't have to navigate it alone.
Facing an unexpected pregnancy and wanting a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your options and feelings.
Struggling with the transition into parenthood, including changes to your identity, relationships, body, or sense of self.
Processing a difficult diagnosis or pregnancy experience, including a genetic anomaly or other unexpected news.
Processing a difficult or traumatic birth experience and the emotions that may have followed.
Preparing for childbirth or parenthood while feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or uncertain about what comes next.
Experiencing postpartum depression, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm and needing support during a time when you may feel like you are supposed to be happy.
How do we work with it?
I bring years of experience as a labour and delivery nurse, including working with complex situations and supporting people through some of the most vulnerable moments of their reproductive journeys. I also worked at the Vancouver Island Choice Clinic, when it was called the Vancouver Island Women’s Clinic, supporting people as they navigated pregnancy decision-making.
This experience informs a counselling approach that is compassionate, practical, and free from judgment. There is space to talk openly about your experience, whatever that experience looks like for you.
Together, we can explore:
Pregnancy decision-making — Creating space to explore your feelings, values, options, and decisions without judgment or pressure.
Pregnancy and birth preparation — Working through fears, expectations, anxiety, and questions as you prepare for childbirth.
Preparing for parenthood — Exploring the emotional transition into becoming a parent and the changes it can bring to your identity and relationships.
Birth experiences — Processing a difficult, unexpected, or traumatic birth and making space for what you experienced.
Identity and the transition to parenthood — Exploring who you are as you move through this significant life transition and finding ways to stay connected to yourself.
Postpartum mental health — Supporting you through postpartum depression, anxiety, overwhelm, or the complicated emotions that can accompany new parenthood.
The best place to start
You don't need to know exactly what you need before reaching out. Whether you're navigating a difficult decision, processing an experience, preparing for what comes next, or simply need somewhere safe to talk, we can start wherever you are. A short, no-pressure conversation is the easiest way to find out if we’re a good fit to work together.
